The JPYFL Cheerleading program was founded to promote a recreational cheerleading program with a major emphasis on fun, teamwork and competitive sportsmanship. Cheerleaders must be age 5 on or before August 1st. The cheerleading coaches, trainers and team parents are a dedicated group of people who volunteer their time and talents to coordinate each cheerleading squad.

Cheerleading is both a fun and fitness sport. Each cheerleader will develop individual skills while learning her value as a team player.  Cheerleaders learn cheers, chants and cheerleading routines, while developing self-confidence, poise, and coordination.  The team cheerleaders cheer for JPYFL football teams throughout the season.

Stay Informed! Let us know you want to be a Cheerleader or Cheer Coach in 2008!!

Attend Cheer Camp! Traditionally, there is a Cheer Camp hosted by the Jeffersonville High School Red Devil Cheer squad that each JPYFL Cheerleader can attend.   JPYFL & Cheer will not pay the admission fee for this clinic.

Attire for Practices - All cheerleaders should wear shorts, t-shirt, and athletic shoes.  Cheerleaders should bring plenty of water to drink.  Jewelry, jeans, jean shorts, and sandals should not be worn.

Attend All Games! The JPYFL Cheerleaders are assigned a cheerleading squad and must attend all scheduled games for that squad.

Games are played in Jeffersonville, IN at Shirley Hall Park (next to Thomas Jefferson Elementary School). Games during the regular season will be on Sunday.  The cheerleaders may be required to cheer at home and away football games depending on team assignment.

During playoffs in October, games could be on consecutive days.  It is very exciting to cheer at a JPYFL Playoff Game!

Join a Team!  JPYFL Teams and Cheerleaders are formed by age groups.  Special requests are taken in account and accommodations are made when appropriate.

HAVE A GREAT TIME!!  The JPYFL Cheerleading program focuses on fun and learning cheerleading!!  Always be positive and willing to learn!!
